Novella: The Nighmare Quotes

It's just a basic start, but here are seven quotes, one from each chapter that will not cause spoilers for the end of the novella.

1 - Struggling to climb into the small cramped space of the three-man brought back the Nightmare tenfold and beyond. The terror I felt shake my limbs almost caused me to lose my grip on the hatch and fall onto my pilot; my companion for the trip still behind me on the ladder awaiting the signal I was settled.

2 - It didn't seem real to me that I had been having a conversation with a man who died when the Titanic sank.

3 - And if he wanted me to help clear his name so he could rest in peace after so many years then I would do everything in my power to do it for him, even if it meant losing him.

4 - Then it hit me. An Internet blog. I could set it up under a fake name and publish my findings there every day.

5 - I dug through everything I'd downloaded the day before and found his email address and then stopped to actually think about what I was doing. I needed a plausible reason for contacting him, one that wouldn't make me sound crazy.

6 - I really found that strange because, based off what Brenton had told me that meant multiple points of ignition. It just didn't sound like something that should have been overlooked, especially the one directly in front of the window that would have been Jeffrey's escape route.

7 - i didn't even question why I was being sent on another trip when I should have been working on basic and technical information for the next wreck.

Hello everyone, I’m Lexxie Scott. As you can tell from the blog’s title, I’m an author and this blog is about my books - published and in progress. I’ve been writing since I was around twelve or so, definitely seventh grade. I always had a notebook with me and would write in class once my reading, test, or other work was finished. Tails from the Oddside 2: Point of View

*I work in a hospital as a Security Officer. One of our many and varied duties is maintaining the morgue. That is to say, we sign the deceased in and release them to the correct funeral home when the family makes their wishes known. I think that almost anyone knows hospitals are haunted. There are certain areas that are more apt for paranormal activity than others. The morgue is one of them. I was walking back to the office one morning and started wondering what the ghostly point of view is. Since I can't ask them, I came up with this.* Given the topics of the previous two novellas and some of my other works, I think it's fairly obvious I believe in ghosts. We'll go into a much deeper discussion during one of the series, but I do believe and have seen two - and possibly a ghost cat. Tales from the Oddside 5: Knife to the Heart

 *It's not common for me to remember my dreams. I don't know if I just don't naturally slip into the deep sleep needed to be able to dream, or if they're fading out on me for a reason. This story here is based on a dream I had while reading about psychopaths for a novel I have in-progress. Since this dream, and one very disturbing nightmare, I've stopped reading research materials at bedtime." That in-progress novel is finished, published, and will be talked about soon. For this story, too much talking will spoil the whole thing, but it looks at what happens when an adopted phychopath is finally able he cannot have / do something he wants. It also looks at the rather chilling results.
